1st Attempt at Body Paragraph #1
This is NOT your rough draft [that's due Thursday]. This is just to let you see how I'll grade it. Here's the format we discussed yesterday, and here are some important points to keep in mind:
- The topic sentence must have your 'should' and one reason in the same sentence, like this example: Schools should have open lunch because students want more variety.
- The paragraph must focus on that ONE reason. If you're saying it's to allow more variety, you can't start talking about kids needing a break from school.
- The paragraph needs TWO pieces of evidence (from your notecards) and lots of elaboration (from your own mind). Remember to use quotation marks, but no quote should have more than five words.
[Honors English 9 needs THREE pieces of evidence and more elaboration.] - Each piece of evidence needs a citation in the same sentence, and it must follow the correct format.
