Initial Thoughts & QuestionsRead Now
You guys might not know this, but I deal with anxiety sometimes, like some of you do. I usually do a pretty good job of handling and/or hiding it, and it's not a constant battle, but big things like this trigger it, understandably. It helps to talk to someone, so I talked with my wife (of course) and my older brother, and that helped me process some of it. I think I'll call my mom too. Writing this blog post also helped.
A hundred questions ran through my mind, and since I assume that's true for you also, I wanted to give you some initial thoughts of how we might handle it, but the school asked teachers not to give out any specifics yet. Sorry. :-)

One thing that helps me is deep breathing. If I feel really stressed about something, I'll breathe in and then out while counting slowly, both taking about seven seconds. Some people say it helps to hold the breath for 5 seconds before breathing out. That can usually calm me down after doing it just a few times.
