You guys might not know this, but I deal with anxiety sometimes, like some of you do. I usually do a pretty good job of handling and/or hiding it, and it's not a constant battle, but big things like this trigger it, understandably. It helps to talk to someone, so I talked with my wife (of course) and my older brother, and that helped me process some of it. I think I'll call my mom too. Writing this blog post also helped. A hundred questions ran through my mind, and since I assume that's true for you also, I wanted to give you some initial thoughts of how we might handle it, but the school asked teachers not to give out any specifics yet. Sorry. :-) Anyway, staff are going in next week to discuss the plan, so we'll figure it out. In fact, the administrators are already working on it, so it's going to be okay. We're living in a time of terrific technological opportunities, and we've already come up with several cool ideas. For the record: This is NOT to be considered an official answer from EHS or USD490. This is just JBJ.

I was at my friends house when her older sister told us that all the schools in Kansas were closing and I was also really shocked. At first I was excited then I realized that meant I wouldn't get to see my friends, but I have also enjoyed more time with my family.

what's the biggest thing for you when dealing with anxiety or something of that nature that you can't control or nessesarily take care of and take away. I have adhd if you haven't noticed in class I'm sure you have but what's one thing that you take away from it that you learn or learned

One thing that helps me is deep breathing. If I feel really stressed about something, I'll breathe in and then out while counting slowly, both taking about seven seconds. Some people say it helps to hold the breath for 5 seconds before breathing out. That can usually calm me down after doing it just a few times.

I appreciate that you decided to share your anxiety with us, it can be hard sharing when it comes to anxiety, I often have anxiety as well when it comes to tests, and having work built up on school, as well as playing basketball.
