Choose a topic.
Pick a side.
Think of two or three reasons.
Hand-write a paragraph about each reason.
Type those paragraphs verbatim.
On your
notecards
file, make a "One reason that..." card for each reason.
Think of at least five questions that you want to find out the answer to (e.g., How many people are killed with guns each year?).
Find the answers to those questions and put them in your notecards.
Be sure to include the source.
Combine your typed paragraphs with your research to do the rough draft for those two paragraphs.
