• You need at least 25 notecards.
• Each notecard should have ONE question and ONE answer (piece of evidence).
• Evidence = a fact, quote, statistic, or anecdote you found while doing your research​
• Remember, you can't use quotes of more than five words.
• ​Feel free to use different colors, highlighters, shapes, etc., if they help you organize your thoughts.

The citation must be the SAME THING that's on the first line of the Works Cited entry.

​If you know the name of the author, use it:

• ​(Johnson)

If there's no author, use the title of the article:

• ("How to Write")
  If the title is long, just use the first few words.

If there's no title, use the domain URL:

• (jbjclass.com)​

Notes:
- A period or comma goes after the citation.

• ​(Johnson)​.

- If you put the author's name in the sentence, you don't need parentheses () around the name, but you do need them around the page number.

• ​Johnson also claims that ... (47).
